Start Here – 30 Second Fix: Check for Stuck Dirt or Debris

I had a client last month – small law firm, partner's laptop, 'E' key just died. She was about to send it for repair. I flipped it, tapped the key area on the table, a grain of rice fell out. Key worked again. That's the most common fix for non-responsive keys. Dirt, crumbs, pet hair, even a tiny piece of paper can block the scissor mechanism under the keycap.
